Hawaiian Sunburst and Palms

Posted by
Dwight Morita (Honolulu, United States) on 25 March 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

As we approach Holy Week, this fun photo of palm fronds is the image that I use to illustrate my Meditation on Palm Sunday.

I begin the piece by saying, "I am one of the few people in America who has not seen the two movies, “Titanic” and Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of Christ.” Yes, you might be right; I do live under a metaphorical rock for having missed these box office hits. When asked how I was able to stay away from seeing both, I simply point out that, “I already know how the story ends!” With that tongue-in-cheek answer in mind, one might ask, how is it that I celebrate Palm Sunday, the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, knowing what will happen in a few days time? "

excellent work with back light here - just about perfection! the strands are illuminated beautifully and glow with a vibrant and rich green tone and the star burst effect just caps it off superbly!
